Monday - Friday 8am-4pm / 9am-5pm

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Planner to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in transport planning and distribution, with a strong ability to capacity plan and schedule works. This role involves building and managing a vendor portfolio by geographical area and developing new vendors to support major projects. The successful candidate will oversee the logistics model, ensuring efficient processes and considering the bigger picture to meet project demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capacity planning and scheduling of transport works.
- Building and managing a vendor portfolio by geographical area.
- Developing new vendors to assist with major projects.
- Overseeing the logistics model and implementing efficient processes.
- Analysing and understanding project demands on road movements, including restrictions and load capacities.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking to address logistical challenges.
- Ensuring compliance with FORS or other haulage accreditations.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in transport planning and distribution.
- Strong capacity planning and scheduling skills.
- Knowledge of FORS or other haulage accreditations.
- Ability to think laterally and critically.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of project demands on road movements, restrictions and load capacities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
