Pin Point Recruitment are seeking an experienced Chemical Process Shift Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our client's site operations during shift hours, ensuring safety, production efficiency, and equipment maintenance.
This role involves supervising process operators, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Chemical Process Shift Supervisor Job Role:
- Ensure all personnel adhere to site safety procedures and wear the correct PPE.
- Conduct risk assessments (RAMS) and oversee permit-to-work procedures.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and report any incidents or unplanned events.
- Lead and support a team of process operators, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Organise shift staffing and manage unplanned absences.
- Ensure team welfare and maintain cleanliness of control and mess rooms.
- Oversee the blending and handling of chemicals, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Monitor and optimise production processes to meet customer requirements in volume and quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, reduce unplanned downtime, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Prioritise maintenance tasks and manage backlogs effectively.
- Work closely with technicians and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Chemical Process Shift Supervisor Hours:
- 4 on 4off
- 12 hours shift – 6am – 6pm
- 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off
Chemical Process Shift Supervisor Key Skills Required:
- Proven supervisory experience in a chemical process manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical blending, handling, and process operations.
- Experience with risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and safety compliance.
- Ability to plan, prioritise workload, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development.
