A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134million turnover are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work out of their Essex office overseeing projects in the home counties and London. They offer a variety of excellent work and lifestyle benefits and a competitive salary of up to £75,000 DOE.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working for a company that have been established for over 30 years and will require a strong senior candidate with experience of NEC and will be responsible for estimating and controlling costs, making sure that structures meet legal and quality standards



Senior Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (negotiable for highly qualified candidates).

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview

  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
  • Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation
  • Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts
  • Agreement of final accounts.
  • Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
  • Utilise the costing system.
  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.


Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements

  • Relevant Industry Qualification
  • General Civil Engineering experience
  • Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and the ability to manage complex cost structures
  • Experience using CEMAR
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate
  • Experience within a construction/engineering industry and commercial background
