A Body Repair Technician specializes in assessing, repairing, and restoring the structural and aesthetic condition of vehicles after damage due to accidents, environmental factors, or everyday wear. This role requires a blend of technical skill, precision, and an eye for detail, as technicians work to return vehicles to their original condition, ensuring both safety and appearance.

At DGARAGE LTD you will work mostly with commercial vans (panel vans) however cars are welcome, and you also will be able to attend your private customers independendly. We can offer an excellent package for indepedent contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Damage Assessment: Technicians begin by evaluating the extent of damage, which can include dents, scratches, frame distortion, and more severe structural issues. They often use diagnostic tools to identify hidden damage that could compromise safety.

  2. Repair and Restoration: Depending on the damage, they may perform tasks like removing dents, replacing panels, welding, straightening frames, and repainting areas to match the vehicle’s original color and finish. This can involve a range of techniques, including paintless dent repair, sanding, filling, and refinishing.

  3. Body Component Replacement: For areas that are beyond repair, technicians replace parts such as bumpers, fenders, hoods, and other body panels. They work with materials ranging from metals to composites and need to ensure that replacements align precisely with the vehicle’s specifications.

  4. Alignment and Calibration: In cases of structural damage, technicians ensure the vehicle's frame and alignment meet safety standards, often using computerized systems to restore factory specifications.

  5. Surface Preparation and Painting: Preparing surfaces and applying primer, paint, and protective coatings requires precision to achieve a seamless, durable finish that blends with the vehicle’s original appearance.
