Thurrock Council is on a major change journey and is looking for people to help in the delivery of this. Following the Council being put into intervention in 2022 a vast amount of work has already been successfully undertaken to ensure the Council is back on track and moving towards financial stability, but there is more to do.
The Council is currently recruiting to a number of roles across the finance team to help drive the Councils new Corporate Plan 'A Fresh Start for Thurrock’, which sets out how they will operate over the next five years as it recovers and rebuilds trust with residents and communities. The finance team will play a hugely important role in securing the Councils future.
The Finance Assistant will report to an Accountant and will support them and stakeholders across the service by undertake service analysis, provide financial information and produce reports and complete grant returns as required.
To be suitable for the role you should be willing to study or AAT part qualified or actively studying for another accounting qualification. Previous exposure to budgeting and producing reports would be advantageous.
