Are you an experienced and passionate educator looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? An excellent school based in Harrow is seeking a highly skilled KS2 Phase Leader and English Lead to join their team from January to July 2024, with the possibility of a permanent position from September 2025.



This KS2 Phase Leader Role:

This unique role combines classroom teaching and leadership responsibilities, offering the chance to:

  • Teach Year 5: Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to inspire our Year 5 students.
  • Lead the English Curriculum: Take responsibility for English across the school, driving literacy outcomes and curriculum development.
  • Lead the Upper Key Stage 2 Phase (Years 5 & 6): Provide leadership and support to colleagues in Upper KS2, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.


Key Responsibilities of a KS2 Phase Leader:

  • Plan and deliver innovative lessons in Year 5, engaging students in a supportive and stimulating environment.
  • Oversee English teaching and assessment across the school, with a focus on improving literacy standards.
  • Lead and support the Upper KS2 phase, helping to shape the phase's strategy and direction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to maintain high academic and pastoral standards.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 or Year 6.
  • Previous leadership experience within a school, especially in leading a subject or phase would be ideal but not essential.
  • A passion for English and raising literacy standards across the school.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an enhanced DBS clearance.
