Are you an experienced Chef looking for work in Cheshire?

Winner Education are seeking a Chef to work with a school who provide independent special educational needs placements. This role is a full-time temp to perm position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience as a chef, preferably in a school

LOCATION: Cheshire, Barrow, CH3 postcode

HOURS: Part time (Monday – Friday) 30 hours a week

START DATE: ASAP

Salary: 21000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our students.
  • Shopping: Manage the procurement of fresh ingredients and supplies, ensuring all items are within budget and of high quality.
  • Food Hygiene: Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Menu Planning: Develop weekly menus that are varied, healthy, and appealing to children with different dietary requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of kitchen inventory, ensuring that all necessary items are stocked and minimizing waste.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with school staff to accommodate any special dietary needs or allergies.
  • Cleaning: Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and organised at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a school or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Ability to plan and prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs.
  • Driver's License: Having a valid driver's license would be beneficial for managing shopping and supply runs, especially given the school's rural location.
