The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically competent individual to join our team. Under the supervision and mentorship of a company director, you will:

  • Develop and implement procedures and documentation for specialist projects and ISO management systems.
  • Follow an agreed training plan to develop your skills and competence, ultimately taking ownership of management systems and compliance schemes.
  • Review British and International standards, research suitable testing equipment, training requirements, and test methods to develop technical procedures for client review.
  • Create internal forms and control plans to record results and perform testing against developed procedures.
  • Help collate detailed documentation packs for products produced in specialist sectors, ensuring 100% compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Utilise exceptional IT literacy and administrative skills to handle extensive data from multiple systems for performance evaluation, monitoring and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair and lead internal meetings with senior management.
  • Attend and contribute to external meetings with blue-chip clients.
  • Interact regularly with shop floor personnel.
  • Perform supplier inspections for key subcontracted components.
  • Conduct testing/inspections in production facilities, this will involve hands on work.
  • Support and ultimately take ownership of ISO management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering, technical, or scientific degree with a minimum 2:1.
  • Knowledge/understanding of heavy engineering manufacturing principles. Any experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting would be an advantage.
  • Awareness of non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Awareness of ISO 9001/45001/14001 management system standards (beneficial).
  • Internal auditor qualification (advantageous but not essential).
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation/principles.
  • Qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate (advantageous but not essential).
  • Exceptional IT literacy and administrative skills.
