Hire Desk Controller - Great Dunmow

Alecto Recruitment are seeking a proactive Hire Desk Controller to join a company specializing in the supply, installation, maintenance, and repair of winches and hoists.

They provide a range of services designed to support industries that rely on lifting and handling equipment, offering expertise in both equipment servicing and technical support.

Serving sectors such as construction, marine, industrial, and offshore.

Hours:

Mon - Fri

8am - 5pm

Package:

  • Up to 32,000 basic
  • 2 bonuses a year
  • 25 days annual leave PLUS bank holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming calls and emails professionally and efficiently, addressing inquiries, providing quotations, and resolving queries.
  • Assist in the scheduling and dispatching of equipment to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
  • Maintain accurate records for hires, returns, and inventory levels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure all equipment is well-maintained and ready for hire.
  • Support month-end processes, including customer invoicing and statements.
  • Assist with Purchase Order (P/O) processing, including handling supplier invoices and statements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous office experience, preferably in a plant hire or hire desk role (but not essential).
  • Familiarity with hire systems (e.g., Insphire, Syrinx) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computer systems such as Word and Excel.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
