We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced project Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled and optimised. You will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and providing financial advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
  • Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are adhered to.
  • Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers and contractors to secure the best prices.
  • Provide regular reports on project financial status, highlighting any discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on cost-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Experience

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
  • Experience of NEC & JCT contracts
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
