Reed Accountancy and Finance Norwich are delighted to be working exclusively with a client who we have a long-standing relationship with to recruit for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This hybrid role is based in Great Yarmouth and offers the opportunity to manage day-to-day bookkeeping, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with company policies and reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience within a similar accounts role and have good accountancy software knowledge and experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform bookkeeping duties and maintain sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Manage accounts payable, including reviewing and posting invoices and preparing payment runs.
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks, such as raising sales invoices and credit control.
  • Resolve customer and supplier queries efficiently.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and manage staff expenses.
  • Assist in the month-end process and preparation of VAT returns.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support as required.
  • Offer cover within the finance team and work closely with the finance manager to ensure a seamless accounts function.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or experienced within an accounts department.
  • Good skills in Sage 50 and Excel.
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Methodical, organised, and accurate with a commitment to discretion.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
