Are you an experienced Structural Engineer looking for hybrid work with future opportunities to play a big hand in growing a business and potentially be a Director with business shares? 

We are looking for such an individual to join our clients on a full-time hybrid basis in the wider Great Yarmouth area. Where an experienced individual can hit the ground running, take charge, plan and execute their role with confidence.

Local knowledge would be ideal but our clients would be open to those looking to relocate to the area. 

Working hours: 

  • Flexible / hybrid working 
  • Monday to Friday 9.00 AM - 5.30 PM
  • Some overtime maybe required if there is a deadline to finish 

The successful Structural Engineer will be offered:

  • £40,000 - £50,000 Basic - depending on experience
  • Hybrid working 
  • Performance bonuses
  • Potential to rise to the position of Associate and possibly Director with share options.

Structural Engineer requirements:

  • Professional member of the ICE or IStructE to CEng or IEng level
  • 3 – 5 years of structural engineering design and consultancy experience
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written 
  • Offshore structural design experience preferred but not essential
  • Roads and drainage design experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to work well as a part of a wider team, as well as, individually 
  • Passionate about their work and the desire to build a long-term career
  • A full UK driving licence with access to own transport

Duties for the role of Structural Engineer will include but will not be limited to:

  • Preparation of structural analysis and design calculations and reports for complex structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Conducting structural condition surveys, generating reports, and developing remedial work schemes.
  • Project management of own projects, and managing more junior staff to meet project requirements from initial client enquiry and fee proposal preparation stage through to preliminary design, detailed design, drawing and specification preparation, delivery and project completion.
  • Business management-related duties, such as QMS compliance, auditing etc.
