We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business in Great Yarmouth who are looking to strengthen their business by hiring a Logistics Specialist.This new role involves ensuring compliance with customs clearance procedures, streamlining equipment shipments, and managing imports and exports to meet company and legal standards. You’ll be instrumental in delivering cost-effective logistics solutions while fostering growth within the logistics team.Key Responsibilities
  • Create dispatch/collection notes for equipment movements.
  • Prepare import/export commercial invoices, packing lists, and clearance instructions.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure smooth equipment shipments.
  • Obtain and maintain logistics documentation for audit compliance.
  • Provide shipping expertise to on-site teams and clients globally.
  • Manage and resolve logistics complexities for international shipments.
  • Compile import/export data for reporting and ensure compliance with dangerous goods handling regulations.
  • Lead and develop the logistics team, including recruitment, performance management, and skills development.
  • Oversee freight procurement and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
Requirements for the role
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or a similar role.
  • Proven exports/imports track record within international logistics
  • Knowledge of Export Licence control
  • Knowledge of all import regimes i.e. IPR / RGR / Duty Paid.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Understanding of shipping practices and handling methods.
  • Experience in managing a dynamic team within a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods (DG) handling and documentation.
