Are you an experienced Hydrographic Nearshore Surveyor looking for your next opportunity? A leading company in the marine and offshore sector is seeking skilled professionals to join their dynamic team based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. This role offers the chance to work on exciting nearshore survey projects, contributing both in the field and in the office with data acquisition, processing, and quality control.



The Role

As a Hydrographic Nearshore Surveyor, you will be involved in:

  • Mobilisation and calibration of survey equipment
  • Deployment, recovery, and tuning of survey equipment
  • Online data acquisition, QC, and daily data backups
  • Collaborating with vessel masters and senior surveyors to ensure vessel readiness
  • Conducting marine activities as part of the vessel crew
  • Supporting office-based tasks, including data processing and QA/QC
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of company systems and project documentation
  • Using industry software such as QINSy, PDS2000, POSPac MMS, Trimble Business Centre, Caris HIPS and SIPS, and Geosoft Oasis Montaj


About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline (Surveying, Marine Science, Oceanography, Engineering, Environmental Science)
  • Previous experience in marine surveying
  • Knowledge of multibeam data processing, GNSS data processing, geophysical data processing, and tidal theory
  • An understanding of acoustic theory and geodesy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • The right to work in the UK
