Logistics Planner

Reed are proud to be working with an established and highly successful waste management company based in Great Yarmouth, recruiting for the position of Logistics Planner to join their team on a Permanent full-time basis. We are looking for someone who will manage logistics requirements, ensure transport compliance, maintain driver competency, and support project work alongside waste coordinators. Responsibilities

  • Oversee logistics requirements and manage third-party services for terminals.
  • Ensure all transport meets legal and business requirements.
  • Maintain driver training, compliance, and competency.
  • Ensure the availability of suitable transport and competent drivers to meet business needs.
  • Keep accurate driving and vehicle records to meet legal and auditing standards.
  • Manage costs effectively across all transport operations.
  • Provide operational insights and support to the Area Manager.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure drivers are aware of relevant risks and controls.
  • Liaise with Group Transport Managers to enhance safety and compliance.
  • Support investigations into transport-linked incidents for continual improvement.
  • Manage specific projects and collaborate on broader project initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in logistics planning and transport management.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Competency in using logistics software and tools.
  • Experience managing a team and developing new processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
