Summary

Are you an experienced Service Engineer able to manage after-sales service, routine maintenance, breakdown support, and repair of all SIS-supplied X-ray products? The role also includes commissioning new systems both in-house and on-site. As the Service Engineer, you will maintain constant communication with customers, measure corrective actions for existing products, and actively contribute to product development for obsolescence upgrades and preventative actions.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

- Perform routine service, maintenance, breakdown, and repairs on Inspection Systems products at customer sites across the UK and abroad.

- Diagnose faults, and recommend corrections and improvements.

Installation & Commissioning

- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

- Develop, commission, and test electro-mechanical radiation elements of X-ray products both in-house and on-site.

- Compile commissioning schedules, performance demonstration documentation, technical reports, and associated safety cases.

- Conduct pre-commissioning checks and inspections of X-ray product final builds.

- Organise and supervise performance demonstrations, including interfacing with sales and software personnel for system calibrations and radiographic procedure development.

Customer Training

- Provide customer training in equipment preventative maintenance routines, fault finding, and routine operation.

Stock Management

- Maintain stock X-ray equipment, demonstration systems, and spare parts.

Documentation

- Complete reports, risk assessment and method statement documents (RAMS), and other paperwork in line with Inspection Systems quality management system and customer requirements.

On-Call Support

- Provide out-of-office support duties on a rotational basis as required by customers.

Skills and Qualifications

- Broad knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering practices with high hands-on skill and competency.

- HNC/HND qualified in Electrical Engineering

- Competent in the safe use of electrical test and measurement equipment

- Ideally 18th Edition qualified

- Good general knowledge of QA and Safety management procedures.

- Full, clean UK driving license.

- Ability to obtain SC or DV security clearance.
