A leading supermarket chain is seeking reliable and customer friendly Van Drivers to deliver groceries directly to customer's homes from its state of the art distribution centre located in Greenford.
The Role
- Your role will be to deliver goods to e-shoppers in and around the Greenford area with exceptional customer service. You will build strong relationships with customers, demonstrating flexibility and integrity, whilst being legally compliant in your duties.
- A Driver Assessment and DBS check will be required for this role.
Duties
- Operate a van for the purpose of delivering goods to various locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Load and unload items, which may involve heavy lifting.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of the van.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Assist in the organisation of goods within the warehouse as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and report any discrepancies or damages.
Requirements
- Valid manual driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating a van.
- up to 6 months proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is beneficial.
- A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for driving.
- You must be willing to handle alcohol and pork products
- You must be available to work on Monday and Friday and some weekends
