The Advocate Group is working with an innovative and dynamic brand very much at the heart of the confectionary industry ! We're supporting them with hiring their newest Finance team to join a fab team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Make sure we follow Group financial rules, IFRS, and local UK standards, plus handle the yearly external audit and get local accounts ready for all our legal entities.
  • Prepare and manage monthly P&L and balance sheets, post journal entries in SAP, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Put together and share the monthly group consolidation package.
  • Look into and fix any accounting issues that come up.
  • Handle monthly intercompany reconciliations, working with the Shared Service and other admin teams.
  • Support external interim audits, suggest process improvements, and do some extra analysis as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
  • Managing some me tax-related tasks now and then including but not limited to Tax Risk Management, Advice, compliance and reporting
  • Responsible for managing the team, making sure we follow Group values and focus on motivation, diversity, inclusion, skill development, and empowering everyone.
  • Support professional growth by evaluating team members and suggesting development opportunities.

Key Skills

  • Experienced in accounting, with a good understanding of taxes, UK GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Comfortable handling both internal and external audits.
  • Skilled in using SAP and have some familiarity with Oracle HFM.
  • Advanced user of MS Office.
  • Strong technical knowledge and able to explain concepts to the team.
  • Great people skills, good at building and keeping relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Capable of juggling priorities and adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Leadership experience
