STORES PERSON/STOCK CONTROLLER

PERIVALE

SALARY UP TO 35,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

HOURS 8.00AM TO 6.00PM

Our client specialises in supplying, servicing and hiring commercial and industrial equipment and they are now looking for an experienced person to join their stores team.

The successful applicant for the role of Stores Person/Stock Controller will get to work with a fantastic and supportive team for a company with plenty of opportunity for future progression.

This job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out within the role and Identifies the level of responsibility but not limited to, the position may also require other duties which are to be carried out from time to time as deemed appropriate by your line manager.

Key Duties

  • Receiving, checking and organising deliveries.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and performing stock checks.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Reporting any discrepancies or issues with stock or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Liaising with suppliers and resolving delivery discrepancies.
  • Updating inventory management systems.
  • Tracking goods.
  • Ensuring all parts stock is accurately and safely stored.
  • Assisting the Parts Manager in stock taking and allocation.
  • Liaising with the Service Department and Workshop.
  • Handling parts enquiries from customers and tradesman.
  • Monitoring shipments, internal transfers, and stock levels.
  • Replenishing stock levels, when necessary.
  • Overseeing purchase and pricing reports and maintaining inventory audit reports.
  • Updating stock records.

Skills & Experience

  • The successful candidate will be ambitious and keen to grow with the company.
  • Previous plant hire/hire desk experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong IT Skills (Outlook/Word/Excel).
  • Interest in Plant/Plant Hire.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Good Organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Supply chain knowledge.
  • An excellent work ethic, timekeeping record with a willingness to learn.
  • Must have professional in communication skills in dealing with colleagues and suppliers.
