SEN Teaching Assistant | ASAP

Location: Greenford, Ealing

Full-time, 5 days per week

Teach Plus are currently working with a 2-form entry, 'Good' primary school located in Greenford, Ealing. The school is a large, inclusive, and welcoming. The school consider the workload and well-being of their staff. The pupils are happy and safe at the school.

This full-time role requires supporting 2 children in Year 1 with complex needs. This role will start ASAP.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Provide 1:1 support to two children with complex needs, ensuring their physical, emotional, and academic development is being met
  • Follow and implement each child's EHCP
  • Support children in managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Encourage participation in classroom and school activities, fostering social interaction and inclusion.
  • Maintain detailed records of the children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
  • Act as a trusted adult for the children, building positive relationships to support their emotional well-being.

The ideal candidate for the SEN Teaching Assistant role will have:

  • Recent experience supporting KS1 children with SEN needs, including complex needs in a school setting
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions, including behaviour management techniques.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to handle challenging situations.
  • A strong work ethic who is willing to commit until the end of the academic year
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
