Accounts Assistant
  • Annual Salary: £27300 (Pro Rated)
  • Location: Greenhithe (Office based)
  • Job Type: Part-time (16 hours per week, flexible working arrangements)

Job Description: Join a leading distribution company as an Accounts Assistant. This role supports the Finance Manager and is crucial in maintaining effective credit control and managing receivable accounts, and providing assistance across various accounting functions.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain credit control procedures and policies to manage risk effectively.
  • Monitor receivable accounts to ensure timely positive relationships with customers and minimise bad debt risks.
  • Coordinate with other departments including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment plans and negotiate payment terms, ensuring timely payments.
  • Generate regular reports on accounts receivable, collections, and credit risk to management.
  • Establish credit limits and evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Sage 50
  • Proven experience in credit control and receivables management.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
