Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Field Service Generator Engineer to join their dynamic team.  In this role, you will provide essential support to the Depot Foreman by handling the depot's day-to-day engineering needs. While the position is predominantly field-based, you will also assist with yard-based tasks as required by the business. What our client offers:
  • Salary: £36,000 + earnings of £60k+ with overtime
  • 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Company-provided service vehicle & fuel - This includes personal miles and door to door pay.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform servicing and maintenance on generators on-site and within the depot
  • Genset synchronization tasks
  • Diagnose faults in control panels, AC/DC electrical systems, and other components
  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, including Bank Holidays
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Communicate directly with customers, ensuring excellent service levels
  • Ensure daily vehicle roadworthiness by completing defects reports
  • Strictly adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including service sheets, PDI sheets, and other documentation
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • We’re looking for a highly organised individual who possesses the following:
  • Previous experience in the generator or plant hire industry
  • NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong ability to manage workloads and meet weekly service schedules
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
  • A forklift licence is preferred (training can be provided if needed)
