Development Profile

The grounds to be managed consist of 72 acres and are part of a prestigious housing development by the River Thames. The role is to supervise, and work alongside, a small team of gardeners, ensuring the grounds are maintained to a high standard. The role reports to an on-site development manager, providing them with horticultural advice as required.

Ideally, you'll have all or most of the experience we're asking for:

  • Must hold Full UK Driving Licience
  • NVQ level 2 in horticultural or equivalent qualification
  • PA1 and PA6A
  • PASMA licence beneficial
  • Well-motivated, with a pro-active and flexible can-do attitude, able to act on own initiative, paying attention to detail
  • Leadership qualities, with previous supervisory or managerial experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring all tasks are delegated accordingly
  • Provide a high standard of service to the site and our customers
  • Maintain the estate grounds and apartment curtilages to a high standard
  • To carry out an agreed annual programme of maintenance work to ensure the grounds are kept to an agreed standard.
  • Use ride on mowers in accordance with operating procedures
  • Use petrol/electric powered gardening tools
  • Oversee cleaning of car park areas with specialist sweeping machine
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures
  • Follow the correct method of working as per RAMS
  • Oversee fencing repairs and general estate maintenance work as required (painting street furniture, minor repairs to play areas and so on).
  • Carry out general estate maintenance work as required by the Development Manager
  • Drive site vehicle with trailers
  • Continued self and team improvement by using company e-learning platform
  • Undertake training courses as required
  • Any other duties that may be required to maintain the high standard of the development
