 HR Advisor

The purpose of this role is to deliver professional, consistent and commercially compliant HR guidance and advice services to employees and line managers within Cigna UK. This role will support the HR Business Partners, UK HR Manager, HR Director and work collaboratively with HR COE partners ensuring a strong focus on continuous improvement to drive customer service excellence aligned with the overall business and HR strategy.  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provides detailed and accurate HR and employee relations advice, is able to demonstrate considerable resilience to influence, coach and support to line managers in the resolution of performance management, absence management and all other employee relations issues including investigations involving misconduct and grievances. Ideal candidate must have considerable experience of managing complex ER caseloads effectively.
  • Manage internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR function
  • Manage ER processes across the business as directed by the HRBP and or the Head of HR
  • Support HR programmes and practices - this includes staffing processes, reward programmes, performance management, absence management, Equality & diversity initiatives and effective communication processes
  • Provides fresh insights, ideas and new processes where appropriate to streamline services
  • Review HR policies and update as required following any company, regulatory, compliance updates
  • Support Cigna Health & Wellbeing Initiatives, Reward and Recognition Programmes and all HR projects & initiatives
  • Maintain effective communication with the HR Team and COE partners by liaising, as required, with internal teams such as Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Finance, Compensation & Benefits
  • To support and work with the business to drive employee engagement and accountability for superior results
  • Assist HRBP’s and the UK Head of HR supporting the full employee lifecycle
  • Compiling and maintaining paper, digital, and electronic employment records
  • Maintaining HRIS systems and preparation of HR reports and information
  • Preparation of routine letters and documentation
  • Supporting with any HR communications, events, seminars
  • Continuous learning of best practice to improve HR efficiency
  • Provides support for the HR mailbox administration

Experience Required 

3-5 years general HR experience

Employee Relations experience

Detailed understanding of HR policies and procedures and how to apply them and be able to  apply best practice codes of practice from CIPD and ACAS

Education/professional qualifications required

CIPD Qualified or working towards this

Educated HND Level
