Assistant Management Accountant for Progressive Transportation Company

Grimsby, Permanent £30,000 - £35,000 pa

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding transportation and logistics enterprise, is seeking a talented individual to join their finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. The Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the fast-paced world of transportation and logistics. Key Assistant Management Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Support the Management Accountant in preparing monthly financial reports
  • Maintain and update cost databases for various operational expenses
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Analyse cost variances and adjust databases accordingly
  • Manage a portfolio of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end processes
  • Provide financial advice to budget holders in a clear, customer-friendly manner
  • Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the finance team

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables)
  • Experience with financial software packages
  • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
