Assistant Management Accountant for Progressive Transportation Company

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding transportation and logistics enterprise, is seeking a talented individual to join their finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. The Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the fast-paced world of transportation and logistics. Key Assistant Management Accountant Responsibilities:
- Support the Management Accountant in preparing monthly financial reports
- Maintain and update cost databases for various operational expenses
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy of financial information
- Analyse cost variances and adjust databases accordingly
- Manage a portfolio of balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
- Contribute to month-end and year-end processes
- Provide financial advice to budget holders in a clear, customer-friendly manner
- Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the finance team
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables)
- Experience with financial software packages
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
