We are actively recruiting a key job role for a modern firm of accountants, who are looking for an Accountant / Client Manager. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason.

As Client Manager, your role will be to develop long-term relationships with a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring their accounting and business advisory needs are met to the highest standards. You will engage with a wide range of clients, including small, and limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, property landlords, and individuals requiring personal tax support. Working within a rapidly growing retail environment, you will be expected to manage client portfolios effectively while contributing to the growth of the business. This role offers flexibility and can be tailored to the right candidate, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who can step in and make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building: Lead client meetings (both in-person and virtual) to identify new opportunities, nurture existing relationships, and provide business support.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of annual accounts, tax returns, and compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements.
  • Tax & Compliance Services: Prepare and submit self-assessment tax returns, HMRC Let Property Campaign returns, and 60-day CGT reports, ensuring clients remain fully compliant.
  • Financial Operations: Support clients with bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS, and payroll services as required, while maintaining precise and up-to-date financial records.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies to ensure profitability for both new and existing clients.
  • Business Development: Represent the firm at networking events and meetings, raising awareness of our services and fostering new business opportunities.
  • Professional Standards: Demonstrate professionalism and excellence in client service, ensuring punctuality, consistency, and adherence to company policies and health and safety protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and external partners, providing support to management and fellow team members as needed.
