Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a leading food production company, at their Grimsby site.

The Role

The Multi-Skilled Engineer is tasked with driving continuous improvement across the site, aiding in the implementation of lean asset management processes and planned maintenance. They will execute immediate and short-term business plans aligned with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and work towards achieving all QCDSEM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Environment, and Manpower) KPIs. Additionally, the engineer will help foster a motivating and valued work environment where employees are inspired to excel and surpass performance targets.

Monthly paid annual salary: 47,438

Normal hours of work are an average of 42 hours per week.

Your normal daily hours of work are:

  • 2 x days 05:00 - 17:00
  • 2 x nights 17:00 - 05:00
  • 4 x rest days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out tasks that include but not exclusive to electrical, mechanical and utilities of all assets in all areas of our operations across multi sites.
  • Fully support operations in start ups, shutdowns, size changes and process problems.
  • Effectively carry out all planned maintenance and support fault finding.
  • Continually seek learning opportunities for growth and development
  • Deliver daily business plans.
  • Ensure ownership of GMP,HACCP, Food Safety and legality at all levels whilst always driving continuous improvements.
  • Working with the cross functional teams to ensure full compliance with all Company and Customer requirements including BRC.
  • Full conformance to engineering process requirements such as work process control and Visda.
  • Take a proactive role in the optimisation and improvement pf Planned, Predictive and Corrective Maintenance and the adoption of all emerging Maintenance Technologies/Techniques.
  • Improve the performance of our assets to maximise value, minimise waste and costs.
  • Record and communicate hazards, risks and near misses.

Skills & Experience:

  • Recognised and validated maintenance engineering qualification or certificate training to NVQ Level 3 standard.
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Breathing Apparatus.
  • Fire Fighting.
  • Full working knowledge of all current manufacturing and maintenance engineer legislation.
  • A good understanding of Lean maintenance and TPM.
  • Good understanding of current legislation in terms of Health, Safety and Environment.
