Position: Engineering Team Leader

Location: Grimsby

Salary: 50,440 to 51,439

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 night)

Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader to work for a leading food production company, at their site in Grimsby.

The Role:

The Engineering Team Leader plays a key role in driving sustainable, continuous improvement across the site. You'll be responsible for delivering immediate and short-term business goals aligned with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), while ensuring the achievement of all key QCDSEM metrics-Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety & Environment, and Manpower. In this role, you'll foster a dynamic and inspiring culture where people are motivated, valued, and encouraged to work hard while exceeding expectations and achieving outstanding results.

Normal hours of work are an average of 42 hours per week.

Your normal daily hours of work are:

  • 2 x days 05:00 - 17:00
  • 2 x nights 17:00 - 05:00
  • 4 x rest days

Key Accountabilities:

  • Exercise diligence and independent judgement to promote transparent, values-led and professional management of the site.
  • Act as a professional and trusted advisor to the Engineering and site Management team on all maintenance and engineering matters.
  • Accountable for driving maintenance completion to the highest standards whilst ensuring all safety and legal requirements are met
  • Responsible for the safe control of contractors.
  • Deliver daily plan briefings & shift handovers
  • Monitor performance and proactively react to achieve required results.
  • Report on KPIs and use results to drive improved performance.
  • Regular constructive engagement with, and co-ordination of, the broader engineering teams (other sites, HSE Depts) to facilitate the local delivery of site engineering goals.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Recognised and validated maintenance engineering qualification or certificate training to NVQ Level 3 standard in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 HACCP (or equivalent).
  • Evident confidence in presentation, communication and negotiating with professional peer groups.
  • Efficient in delivering objectives and key measures.
  • Ability to work with peers in a matrix structure to draw in external skills to achieve local goals
  • Track record of delivery
  • Ability to manage priorities and projects
  • A personal commitment to role model behaviours and to leadership and management through example
