My client is a global engineering group who are continuing to grow due to their ongoing success. Reporting to the Operations Manager, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work at their Grimsby site.

Activities undertaken are both diverse and challenging as they cover all aspects of inspection and disassembly of AC/DC Motors.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

Key tasks include:-

  • Be able to inspect and disassemble rotating machines including electric motors, Gearboxes and Pumps
  • Undertake works to a high standard on a first-time fix basis where possible
  • Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time
  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer care
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be methodical, accurate and can make notes and reports during the disassembly process. Clear and professional job reports
  • Carry out basic electrical testing to establish machine condition, IR / PI and winding resistance
  • Accurately assess and observe damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machines
  • Compliance with Safety Management system when working
  • Quality control and technical compliance in accordance with project requirements
Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant will possess:-

  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering either C&G or NVQ equivalent
  • Previous experience within a Electro-Mechanical environment
  • Experience of rotating equipment as well as route cause analysis and measuring.
  • Methodical, detailed and accurate approach to reports during the disassembly process
  • Be able to travel for short durations as and when required for specific site work in the UK
  • Use industry equipment correctly and safely during the repair process
  • Prepare all parts and assemble to the required standards and ready for test run
  • Ability to assemble machine to QA standards in a timely manner
