About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager with a strong Manufacturing & HR background to oversee daily business operations while ensuring effective human resource management. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who can optimize operational efficiency, drive team performance, and support the development of a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily business functions to ensure efficiency, productivity, and high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve processes and maximize performance.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with business objectives.
- Manage budgets, resources, and procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to drive business growth.
Human Resources Leadership
- Lead HR initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Develop and enforce HR policies in line with legal requirements and best practices.
- Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee compliance with employment laws, health & safety regulations, and workplace policies.
- Support leadership in workforce planning, talent retention, and succession planning.
Team Management & Leadership
- Supervise and support department heads to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to employees, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Drive employee performance through clear goal setting, coaching, and regular feedback.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in an Operations Management role, ideally within [industry, e.g., manufacturing, engineering, etc.].
- Strong background in HR management, with knowledge of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience in workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in HR software and operations management tools.
Qualifications
- CIPD qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Manufacturing Background Ideal
