What is the role of a Port Administrator?

Working as a Port Administrator at Immingham docks within a team to ensure the smooth administration of freight imports and exports with the Humber port

  • Ensuring compliance in all documentation for freight
  • Using Microsoft office and Destin8
  • Delivering excellent customer service to all port users
  • Liaising with clients and shipping agents in the timely delivery of cargo
  • Accurate record keeping

What experience do you need to be successful as a Port Administrator?

A successful Port administrator will thrive in a busy environment and have excellent attention to detail

  • Previous experience working within the Ports and sector is highly desirable however other similar sectors will be considered such as Logistics and Warehousing, Rail or Freight
  • Previous experience using Destin8 is highly desirable
  • Previous experience using SAP systems is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of Customs documentation procedure is desirable but not essential
  • Team player with a flexible approach to work
  • Keen to learn new skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role such as Import Administrator, Export Coordinator, Port Administrator, Shipping Agent, Transport Co-ordinator, Freight Administrator or Warehouse Administrator is highly desirable
