Year 2 Teacher

Role- Mon- Fri, 08:30 - 15:30

Salary- Competitive

An opportunity has arisen for qualified KS1 teacher to join a lovely school in Grimsby to work in a Year 2 class on a full-time basis starting ASAP until at least April 2025. Dependent on the candidate, there maybe an opportunity to stay onwards. You will work alongside another experienced Year 2 teacher and will be expected to adapt planning to suit the needs of the class

You will be entitled to PPA time which will be held with the other KS1 teachers. You will also have a part-time TA in your class which you will be expected to deploy effectively within lessons.

You can expect to earn a daily rate of between £120 and £140 for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning lessons in English, Maths and foundation subjects based around the National Curriculum for Year 2
  • Delivering lessons to a class of children using a range of stimulating and engaging techniques
  • Marking work throughout the lesson and giving children feedback to check dependent on the school’s marking policy
  • Summative assessment as necessary
  • Attending staff meetings, training days and additional CPD
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with the children, teachers, support staff and parents
  • Differentiating lessons, bridging gaps and challenging high attainers, adapting as necessary
  • Supervising breaktimes
  • Deploying any support staff effectively within the class
  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and reporting any incidents, disclosures or concerns to the designated safeguarding lead

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a school or nursery setting in the last 5 years (essential)
  • QTS or PGCE equivalent (essential)
  • Applications from both ECT’s and experienced teachers are welcomed
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
