We are seeking a dedicated Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of children with autism, helping them to thrive in a supportive educational environment.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and development of social skills.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to adapt learning materials and strategies.
  • Assist in managing the classroom environment to create a structured, predictable setting that reduces anxiety and promotes learning.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and utilise evidence-based interventions to support emotional and behavioural regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to ensure consistent support and communication between home and school.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children with autism is essential.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of effectively collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families.
