Position: Procurement Manager
Location: Grimsby
Salary: 237.32 per day
Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Temporary Position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate)

Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Friday, 18 Jul 2025

About Our Client:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement and Contracts Category Manager to join a forward-thinking public sector organisation. This temporary role offers the chance to make a significant impact by providing high-quality, cost-effective procurement and contract management support. You will play a key role in delivering robust practices to maximise value and efficiency. There is potential for the position to become permanent based on performance and organisational needs.

Key Duties:

  • Lead procurement activities for the ICT and Professional Services categories.

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure compliance with Public Contract Regulations and internal policies.

  • Offer expert advice and guidance to service areas on procurement and contract management, ensuring adherence to procedures, sustainability, and social value objectives.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, promoting best practices in procurement.

  • Support high-value, complex procurement projects, ensuring clarity of outcomes and effective performance measures.

  • Assist in maintaining the Procurement Pipeline and advancing procurement-related policy and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in managing tenders, contract negotiations, and supplier engagements.

  • Experience monitoring and managing strategic, large-value contracts.

  • Familiarity with diverse services in complex organisations, including partnerships.

  • Strong grasp of current procurement practices, legislative requirements, and electronic tendering systems.

  • Understanding of strategic contract management and local authority financial controls.

  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to analyse complex situations and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Project management expertise with a focus on driving change and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Full membership by examination of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent.
