Are you passionate about science and keen to support the next generation of budding scientists? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our dedicated and enthusiastic Science Department at a thriving secondary school in the Grimsby area.



About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our teaching staff and ensuring the smooth running of practical science lessons. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals, and materials for laboratory lessons.
  • Assisting teachers and students during experiments, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Maintaining and organising the science laboratories, including equipment management and stock control.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Supporting the department with administrative duties as required.


About You:

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with a passion for science. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician or a similar role (though full training can be provided).
  • A strong understanding of the scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a practical knowledge of lab procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for students.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., A-levels in Science or equivalent; a degree in a scientific subject is desirable).
