Our client is a well-established, national, training provider. They are looking for a Remote Functional Skills (Maths) Tutor.
Purpose of the Functional Skills Maths Tutor:
The purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment support to learners.
Functional Skills Maths Tutor Responsibilities:
- Work closely with learners to increase their skill level
- Teaching Maths
- Delivering high-quality learning sessions via Zoom and/or face to face
- Foster clear and professional communication with colleagues.
- Facilitate inclusive learning sessions that promote equal opportunities for all learners.
- Plan and deliver teaching, learning and assessment with learners through various methods, supporting the development and production of teaching and learning materials and resources in both manual and electronic formats
- Conduct thorough personalised progress reviews, setting SMART targets for learners' progress.
- Ensure learning programmes meet the required criteria
- Set targets with learners and work with them to achieve these
- Actively participate in all quality improvement processes, including observations of teaching, learning and assessment
- Ensure all learner records are kept up to date and meet internal quality standards
- Ensure that all correspondence from the organisation is of the required standard and tone
The Perfect Functional Skills Maths Tutor Will Have the Following Requirements:
- Be occupationally competent
- Experience in delivering Maths
- Experience in supporting young people with a diverse range of needs
Qualifications Required for the Functional Skills Maths Tutor:
- Teaching qualifications at or above level 3 (e.g. PGCE, PTTLS equivalent etc.)
- Familiarity with Quality standards, including the Ofsted inspection framework
