About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive Finance Audit Coordinator to join this leading Financial Services organisation and support the timely and efficient execution of external audit activities. This newly created role which reports to the Senior External Audit Coordinator and will work closely with the Financial Controller.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a finance background who are looking to focus more on the audit aspects of finance rather than routine financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external auditors, ensuring seamless communication and timely resolution of queries.
  • Assist in developing and executing audit plans, tracking key milestones, and identifying potential risks.
  • Monitor audit requests, ensuring prompt submission of required documents and responses.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to enhance overall audit processes and resolve planning issues.
  • Maintain a framework for post-audit reviews to foster continuous improvement.
  • Track key audit deliverables to ensure efficient and effective audit completion.
  • Build strong relationships with finance and business units to facilitate smooth audit execution.
  • Provide regular updates on audit progress, potential challenges, and resolutions to senior management.
  • Support internal teams in understanding audit requirements and best practices.
  • Attend and support key audit meetings and engagements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, engaging effectively with auditors and internal teams.
  • Ability to influence and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and deadline-driven.
  • QBE/Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), with prior external audit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in general insurance is beneficial but not essential.
  • We would consider condensed hours/part time in this role also
