** Accounts Assistant **

IMMEDIATE START & INTERVIEWS

£28K-£30K plus Bonus

  • Based in Guildford
  • Full time 37.5 hours, office based but could be flexible on this after probation period
  • Normal office hours are 9-5.30.
  • There is an occasional Saturday shift about 3-4 times per year, with a day in lieu given
  • 20 days holiday plus bank hols

Our client based in Guildford is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy team due to an internal promotion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Generation & Recording:Check, issue, and manage sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner for all customers.
  • Accounts Receivable Management:Maintain the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring all customer accounts are up-to-date. Follow up on overdue accounts and resolve any payment issues or disputes promptly. Send reminders or statements and liaise with customers regarding overdue balances. Take responsibility for the disposal of customer goods if an account remains unpaid after all reasonable attempts to collect payment have been exhausted. Ensure the proper procedures are followed.
  • Payment Allocation:Accurately allocate payments received from customers to the appropriate invoices and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the sales ledger.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation:Maintain accurate records and files for all transactions, invoices, receipts, and payment details in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • General Finance Support:Provide support to the finance team with general accounting duties and ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Cross-Departmental Support:Provide assistance to other teams within the company, including answering incoming phone calls, making bookings and responding to queries promptly and professionally. Ensure smooth communication between departments and contribute to a positive working environment.

This is an all-round accounts role and will suit someone with an enthusiastic and positive attitude, who is organised and good with people. Strong organisational skills and an ability to be flexible in your approach as the duties can vary and change. Must have some all-round Accounts experience.
