Our professional client is looking for an Account Assistant to join their team in Guildford. This office-based role involves processing client-related transactions promptly and ensuring the company complies with regulations regarding the handling of client funds.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and recording prepayments and accruals accurately in the accounts.
- Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register to ensure all assets are properly accounted for.
- Assisting with the preparation and posting of month-end journals.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
- Assisting with WIP and debt reviews to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
- Providing assistance during the annual audit process by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and employee expenses.
- Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Managing supplier payment runs and handling ad-hoc payments as required.
- Responding to and resolving internal and external finance-related queries in a timely manner.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Must have 1-2 years’ experience of working in an accounts department
- Fast learner who adapts easily.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexible attitude
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective team player.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Demonstrates professionalism.
