Our client, a private school near Guildford, Surrey, is currently looking to recruit a chef de partie to join their team on a full time, term time contract.Hours:This is a term time role, 36 weeks per yearWorking 5/7 daysMonday to Friday 7am-3pm, Weekends 11am-7pm. Weekends will be 2 on, 1 off, then 2 on, 2 off. Salary:This Chef de Partie position offers a good salary plus benefits.The Chef de partie role:To successfully produce and deliver to the highest possible Standards, food and service to pupils, staff and visitors at all times within pre-agreed budgetary targets. To work with the Catering Manager and Head Chef to develop the food offer at school through the introduction of innovation and interest; being mindful that all new innovation must be to the benefit of the health and well-being of the pupils and the promotion of healthy well balances lifestyle. To produce dishes with the most accurate cooking technique and minimum of wastage to ensure that production remains within the budget.Main Responsibilities:*Be an active chef, cooking for all services whilst on duty.*Collaborate with the Head Chef to produce suggested dishes for inclusion in a three weekly menu cycle of varied and interesting dishes that incorporate seasonal produce and are suitable for the age range to which they are being served.*Be proactive in recording and minimising kitchen waste*To ensure that all dishes produced are to the required standards of quality and attractiveness before serving.*To comply with the statutory and company regulations concerning allergens, hygiene and safety of staff, food and equipment.*Assist with supervision of employees in compliance with Health and Safety policy within the team, championing "best practice" and providing assistance and advice where required.*Assist head Chef in ensuring that the ingredients lists for every dish served are available in the kitchen.*To ensure that all daily and weekly routines and checks are carried out.*To prepare and cook food for special functions and special days.*Assist Head Chef in ensuring that food stock levels are kept to a minimum*Ensure that portions are accurate and appropriate for consumer*Ensure that all areas are clean at all times and that appropriate cleaning schedules are in place, completed and recorded.If you are a chef looking for a fantastic new role offering a great work life balance, then please apply now.Scattergood's are acting as an agency on behalf of this vacancy.
