We are seeking a dynamic and creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a prestigious educational establishment near Guildford, Surrey.This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a professional, high-quality catering environment. The Head Chef will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, delivering fresh, seasonal menus, and ensuring exceptional food standards for students, staff, and guests.Key Responsibilities:*Lead, develop and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and creative meals.*Develop creative, exciting, seasonal menus that cater to a diverse range of dietary needs within agreed budget*Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen management, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.*Food production, planning, ordering and stock control*Production and delivery of hospitality events to the highest standards*Have an understanding of safeguarding issues and the processes*Recruitment, training and development of the teamWorking Hours:*40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.*Shift patterns include 7:00 am - 3:30pm or 11:30 am - 8:00 pm.*Weekends on a rota basis, with a maximum of every other weekend, at the Head Chef's discretion.The ideal Head Chef must have:*Culinary excellence with a strong background in high-quality food production.*Passion and excitement for food and hospitality.*Experience in a school or education setting is highly desirable*Multi-site experience is highly desirable*Excellent communication & leadership skills, able to engage and motivate others*Business acumen within a kitchen environment*NVQ level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent is desirable*Intermediate Food Hygiene Level 3*An Enhanced DBS certificate / undergo an Enhanced DBS check.This role offers a fantastic work-life balance, great salary, and the chance to make a real impact in a rewarding setting.
