The Reinstatement Operative will play a critical role in our highways maintenance operations by restoring and repairing road surfaces, footpaths, and verges following excavation work. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of professionals to reinstate and repair areas affected by utility installations, cable laying, drainage works, and other construction activities. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality reinstatement work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct reinstatement activities in compliance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and relevant industry codes of practice.
  2. Repair road surfaces, footpaths, and verges by accurately matching materials, textures, and colors to ensure a seamless integration with existing surfaces.
  3. Operate various tools and machinery, including but not limited to pneumatic drills, compactors, and tarmac rollers, to complete reinstatement work efficiently and to the required standards.
  4. Prepare excavation areas by removing debris, compacting sub-layers, and applying appropriate layers of materials such as tarmac, asphalt, and concrete.
  5. Install, adjust, and repair ironwork, kerbs, and drainage systems as necessary.
  6. Assist in the identification of underground utilities and ensure the protection of existing services during reinstatement work.
