Key duties

As a commercial account executive, your key duties will focus on revenue generation: 

  • Processing with new business for commercial SME businesses
  • Follow up on leads   
  • Provide clients with comprehensive and price-comparative insurance. 
  • Ensuring timely renewals and a healthy renewal/retention ratio; and 
  • Proactively exploiting cross-selling opportunities.

Required experience

 To thrive in the role, you’ll need extensive (at least 2 years’) commercial product liability experience and have worked in a SME commercial new business focussed role.

  • Acturis broking systems experience is highly desirable.

  • You’re driven by meeting (and preferably exceeding) clients’ needs. 
  • As a natural entrepreneur, you can identify and exploit commercial opportunities.
  • You’ve built a proven sales track record and can demonstrate that you’ve achieved measurable growth in your current position.

Personal skills

  • An experienced and tenacious commercial account executive, you’ll develop your skills to an exciting new level. 
  • To thrive, you’ll need to be a confident and accomplished communicator, by phone and face-to-face.
  • Highly organised, you’re great at time management and rigorous at keeping on top of your (timely) admin.
  • As you’ll assume greater autonomy and responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail will be crucial.
  • You’ll also need to be expert at organising your own workload and managing your own diary. 

Required qualifications

  • You must be Cert CII qualified, working towards it, or motivated to do so. 
  • Diploma in Insurance would be useful but is not essential.
