We are looking for a talented Head of BD and Marketing to join a leading and ambitious full service Surrey based law firm and play a pivotal role in shaping this firm's success. 

About the Role:As the Head of Business Development and Marketing, you will lead a talented and dedicated team, providing leadership, encouragement, and development opportunities. Your mission will be to develop and drive innovation and change, establish and embed business development and marketing strategy across the firm, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, proactive support and helps drive a new ambitious six year growth strategy. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a dynamic Business Development & Marketing strategy which meets the current and future needs of the business, taking into account the role of technology, data, evolving client requirements, and market insight/developments.
  • Develop methodology and approach to business development and marketing that empowers the function in proactively and strategically supporting the partners and business to grow profitable revenue cross sectors, chosen markets, internationally and divisional practices. 
  • Develop and execute structure and tools to deliver excellent client management, client centricity and exceptional content development and delivery. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development and Marketing team, fostering a culture of excellence and quality control.
  • Implement clear financial and activity reporting processes, informed by data and insight.
  • Drive and innovation and change, creating a firmwide culture where business development and marketing are at the heart of activity and on everyone's agenda.
  • Develop and deliver measurable BD training and development for lawyers.
  • Enhance the firm’s CRM infrastructure, including the firm’s CRM system and technology platforms to help track and manage client relationships and provide reporting to measure ROI on all BD and Marketing activities. 
  • Lead and facilitate the firm’s cross selling opportunities across this full service matrix firm.
  • Create and establish pitch/proposal resources and decision making processes to ensure appropriate, targeted and timely provision of pitch support in response to RFP’s and tender invitations.
  • Oversee brand strategy implementation and play a key role in developing the firm’s strategic positioning, brand profile and reputation in its key markets.
  • Manage and implement the firm’s internal and external communications strategies - including ensuring all content and communications are strategically consistent in tone of voice and messaging.

  • Strong project management capabilities, ensuring timely and high-standard project delivery.
