Company Profile
A highly regarded, specialist provider of precision machined parts & components to the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive industry are expanding and looking for CNC Machinists, working in their Gear Cutting department as a Programmer Setter Operator.

Job Profile
As the successful CNC machinist (Gear Cutting), you main function will be to assist the team with the manufacturing of high quality precision components for aerospace applications in both the commercial and military sectors in accordance with quality, health and safety requirements, Company policies, procedures and systems.



Skills & Attributes:
  • Previous Gear Cutting experience would be highly desirable, but not essential as training can / will be provided.
  • CNC programming, setting and operating experience is a must.
  • Previous experience of working with Siemens controls would be ideal but not essential.
  • Extensive relevant experience gained in a similar industry, or relevant qualification.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment (ideally production-based) that can be noisy.
  • A desire to learn a new skill and develop within a successful company.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working within a small team.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload.

Duties:
  • Undertaking machine setups in accordance with detailed product operation requirements, as well as selection and loading of relevant program.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of quality and care in the production process.
  • Reading and understanding an engineering drawing in full.
  • Checking that the product loading and clamping is correct and secure.
  • Ensuring that all in-cycle activities are performed as required, e.g. deburring of the product.
  • Carrying out basic maintenance requirements of the machine tools/equipment being used and ensuring that the level of cleanliness is maintained.
  • Ensuring that all machine components are operational/damage-free before operating it and ensuring that broken/damaged tools are reported to the unit manager and replaced immediately.
  • Evaluating the operation and methods used in the machining process, highlighting any potential improvements to management/supervision.
  • Developing an understanding of the Companys quality policies, procedures and all Company processes and ensuring that all validation/inspection checks are carried out and recorded in accordance with the Companys quality department procedures.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties related with the role, as instructed and/or notified from time to time, including but not limited to training and supporting colleagues in the same processes.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to work and participate constructively in Company initiatives and activities.
  • Adhere to the companys health and safety requirements and complete training as required.

Hours of Work:
  • 40 hours p/wk
  • 07:00 15:45,Mon Thu
  • 06:00 13:00,Fri
  • £15.00 to £20.00 p/hr (negotiable, dependant on experience)
  • OT available, paid at x1.5hrs

NOTE: the 1stshift hours will be changed to an earlier shift and will only be triggered once the 2ndshift is rolled out which should be in the next month or 2.

The 1stshift hours will then change to be 6:30am to 3:15pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 1pm Friday each week.
