I am working with an excellent stable business - a fantastic international trading company based in the outskirts of Guildford, the Accounts Manager will play a crucial role in managing their financial systems and providing essential management reporting to support the company's objectives and growth.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage sales ledger, purchase invoicing, and reconciliation activities.
- Handle sales receipt bookings and suppliers’ accounts reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts packages for the Board.
- Develop and present financial and management information, including budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
- Monitor and control company resources to ensure effective utilisation, focusing on payables and receivables.
- Liaise with accountants for annual filings and ensure compliance within designated timescales.
- Introduce new working practices to enhance the Accounts Department’s effectiveness.
- Collaborate with departmental heads to ensure adherence to systems and procedures, and to control overheads while focusing on customer/product profitability.
- Manage all sales and purchase controls and records, including receipts and payments.
- Handle payroll and pension arrangements, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and manage Companies House returns.
- Handle Intrastat reporting.
- Qualified by experience or a experience with a recognised professional accounts qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Proficient in finance software.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing with all levels of management.
- Proven problem-solving skills, particularly in customer support and operational improvements.
- Positive and highly motivated with a proactive approach to work.
