Our client is an established SME business who is seeking to hire a Finance Manager. The role will suit a proven Accountant/ Finance Manager who will enjoy a varied role managing 1 report. The business is open on qualification and happy to consider a QBE or PQ profile. The current incumbent is leaving at the end of March so the incoming individual must be on a short notice of 2 weeks or less.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts package for the Board.
  • Preparation of simple daily, weekly, and monthly Financial and Management information including budgets, forecasts and cashflows.
  • Monitor and control company resources to ensure the most effective utilisation of resources, especially regarding payables and receivables.
  • Liaise with accountants for annual filings within the designated timescale.
  • Identify and introduce new working practices, which enhance the Accounts Department’s effectiveness.
  • Constant interaction with all Departmental heads and management to ensure systems and procedures are adhered to and deadlines are achieved.
  • Assist departmental heads in controlling overheads and focusing on customer/product profitability.
  • Sales ledger and Reconciliation activities
  • Purchase invoicing.
  • Sales receipt bookings
  • Suppliers’ accounts reconciliations
  • Manage all sales and purchase controls and records, which includes receipts and payments.
  • Post nominal ledger journals and month end journals.
  • Manage payroll and pension, ensuring wages and relevant taxes are paid appropriately.
  • Companies House returns.
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns.
  • Intrastat when necessary.

A salary of £50,000-£60,000 is on offer plus bonus and benefits
