Client Onboarding Executive About the Company -One of the largest legal practices in Surrey, and one of the South East's leading law firms. It provides a full range of services to individuals, businesses and other organisations.The firm's hub office in Guildford houses the ever growing business law and specialist lending practices, while from all locations the firm enjoys a pre-eminent reputation in real estate, private client and family law.The role - They are seeking a Client Onboarding Executive to assist the Senior Onboarding Executive with managing the client onboarding process, focusing on client due diligence (CDD) and anti-money laundering (AML) procedures. The role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to foster strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with all standards.Duties and Responsibilities - * Conducting thorough CDD and AML checks on new and existing clients to evaluate their risk profiles.* Ensuring client documentation is accurate, current, and compliant.* Investigating client backgrounds, business activities, and ownership structures to assess potential risks.* Flagging any high-risk or suspicious clients to the AML compliance team for further review.* Implementing and ensuring adherence to AML policies, procedures, and controls in line with UK regulations.* Collaborating with the Residential Property team to enhance and standardise onboarding processes across the firm, initially at the Guildford office.* Monitoring and reporting any unusual transactions or activities that may suggest money laundering or fraud.* Staying updated on evolving AML regulations and making necessary adjustments to the onboarding process.* Cultivating strong relationships with clients to ensure a positive and smooth onboarding experience.* Explaining CDD and AML requirements to clients and guiding them through the process.* Addressing any client queries regarding CDD and AML procedures.* Maintaining clear and organized records of all CDD and AML activities for audits and compliance reporting.* Preparing reports for senior management and the AML team to ensure compliance.* Collaborating with the MLRO, COLP, COFA, and AML teams to implement best practices across the firm.* Promoting effective file management and document retention practices.* Performing other duties as required.The ideal candidate - * Incredible eye for detail * Good understanding of CDD and AML procedures* Exceptional customer service skills* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Experience with client onboarding * Strong organisational skills* Prior knowledge of Practice Evolve or other practice management systems desirable* Familiarity with Practical Law and LexisNexis* Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues
