Head of Finance & Projects - Remote based role

ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant

Client Details

Leading Guildford based Charity are seeking an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant to undertake a permanent Head of Finance & Projects vacancy.

Description

Leads a team of two direct reports with overall responsibility of approximately six staff

  • Lead the successful and timely production of the organisation annual report.
  • Lead the incorporation and financial reporting of a new organisation European entity reporting in IFRS.
  • Lead audit coordinator for the organisation's audits.
  • Completion and submission of form US 990 for the organisation to the IRS.
  • Collation of Directors Emolument forms for onward submission to PwC for both the organisation audit.
  • Take the lead on the Uniform Guidance audit with PwC.

Annual submission of US Census returns to the US Government

  • Responsible for the accurate cash flow forecasting for organisation including working collaboratively with the Treasury team.
  • Take the lead in cost centre accounting across Global Hub
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Global Programmes & Operations team to ensure the accurate accounting of Post Employment Benefit (PEB) in Country Offices,

Resolution of day-to-day non-technical accounting queries arising from Country Offices. Working collaboratively with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate reporting of GGF

  • Implementation of preventive and detective controls within Global Hub to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Lead on various Financial Accounting Policy projects in conjunction with the Head of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
  • SAP subject matter expert including maintenance of Chart of Accounts and process improvements.

Profile

  • Degree level education
  • Qualified Accountant (ICAEW or ACCA)
  • Strong and proven accounting ability with knowledge of corporate accounting under FRS102, IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information
  • Significant experience of managing statutory accounting teams and working in a complex, dynamic multi-currency environment
  • Excellent knowledge of and practical experience in SAP
  • Significant experience of implementing and driving change involving multiple stakeholders and project management.
  • Hands on practical approach to problem solving
