Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Secretary to join a highly regarded regional law firm based in Guildford.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to Solicitors and the broader team, ensuring the smooth operation of workflows across the department. You will be coordinating work within the secretarial team, managing resources to cover absences, and planning for future needs.

(Ideally prior experience working in Dispute Resolution or Civil litigation would be desired but it is not essential) but keen to speak to applicants with management experience!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing legal files, including opening, closing, storing, and retrieving files in line with firm procedures.
  • Preparing and drafting correspondence, legal documents, and forms using audio dictation.
  • Maintaining accurate records within the practice management system.
  • Coordinating diaries, tracking key dates, and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Supporting and managing the allocation of resources across the secretarial team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within Dispute Resolution or Civil Litigation (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in team coordination or a management role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
